EducationI was fortunate to grow up in a home where music was a part of my daily life, not exclusively in a formal way. I enjoyed singing along with my father on guitar and playing piano with my mother. I soon learned to enjoy the camaraderie of playing in an orchestra. After high school, I pursued a Bachelor of music Education from Northern Illinois University where I worked privately with Pierre Menard and Shmuel Ashkenasi of the world renowned Vermeer String Quartet. After my studies at NIU, I developed an interest in early childhood music education on an individual basis instead of a classroom setting; working one on one was much more appealing. I continued my studies in the Suzuki method at University of Wisconsin.

Experience My teachers passed along the idea of talent education for the very young. My involvement extended to teaching workshops in the US and Canada as well as internationally. I served on the Suzuki Association of the Americas Board of Directors for four years. These experiences provided a foundation for my career in fostering musical growth in young violinists. As my career moved forward, I grew interested in teaching advanced violinists as they progressed from the early levels. I was accepted as a student of Ruggierio Ricci, one of the greatest violin virtuosos. I studied with him in Ann Arbor, Italy, and California and I've since tried to continue to learn and grow as we are all life time students in the pursuit of excellence.
